Lyrics
One September Mournin'
words and music by Bruce L. Thiessen, aka Dr. B.L.T. copyright 2001

teardrops fall like rain
against a broken skyline
I wonder if we'll ever sleep again
teardrops on the pane
of my shattered window
I wonder if we'll ever be the same

chorus:
one september mournin'
we woke to hauntin' scenes
one september mournin'
enshrined in silent screams
so many lives were taken
on the dark and dismal day
on that one september mournin'
that will never go away

I cannot bear to look
upon that broken skyline
or in the eyes of all of those who grieve
the flag was once a blanket
that we wrapped around us
but now a nightmare
has replaced our dreams

and the world stood still
as the sky fell down
on broken glass
and wounded windows
and plane-shaped bombs
gave no warnin'
but we shall stand as one
on that September mournin'
(repeat)
