More downloads on your instructor's latest song than the nation's top 2 songs? Yep, it appears to be the case!

Are instructors allowed to brag, vaingloriously to their students? If i were a student with a bragging instructor, it would make me sick. So I hope you will receive this as "sharing," not bragging. LOL. BTW, this is not a post you are in any way required to respond to. It's just fluff. I'll be posting something in addition to this later this week.
Now, you may think I've gone completely bonkers, or that I'm using some sort of trick, but, as of 8/29, there are more downloads registered on my latest hit, "Sky, We Salute You," than there are on the present number one and number two hit songs in the nation.
1. Teenage Dream: Katy Perry (259,000 downloads Nielson Soundscan)
2. Love the Way you Lie: Eminem ft. Rihanna (182,000 Nielson Soundscan)
As of August 29, 2010
Sky, We Salute You: Dr BLT
315, 227 as of August 29, 2010 (Godaddy Site Analytics)
Now here's the small print: My song is a sleeper, unlike the top 2, it's taken months, not weeks, to get to these numbers. But wouldn't you agree that it's not bad for an underdog? LOL. If I'm managing to hold your interest on the song, even after my admittedly bragging, disgustingly self-congratulatory tone (something I don't admire in myself), here's a little more on the song.
If you scroll down, to the bottom, you'll find that my song is scheduled to appear on this album with some artists you may recognize:
Sky Saxon and the Seeds Tribute CD

I think that everyone needs to find an outlet that makes them happy. Balance in life is such an important thing. I don't think you are bragging, you just like to promote something that you believe. Personally, I'd like to see more artists represented on the radio. Some of the internet radio stations are a good option. We have a radio playing "Pop" music in our work area. There are five songs, including that Katy Perry song, that are played over and over and over and over again. I know my tastes are different, so I prefer to listen to my IPOD when at work (BIG Ben Harper and Amos Lee fan). I respect any musician that continues to create music that then enjoy. My friend sings for the band The Superbees. He has played in small bars all over southern California for at least a decade. He was able to tour in Europe for two months, which I think was the highlight of his musical career.

I guess I'm old school in some areas. I'd be happy to participate, but I don't know how to download music, and I don't have an Ipod. My kids might show me if they were around, but my little birdie flew the coop 2 weeks ago to go to college in San Diego. That's why I'm at Brandman feathering my nest; will be launching the mama bird soon. It's time she spread her wings.
